Introduction
Around a third of all school and further education college leavers continue their studies into higher education (HE) - but is it right for you? This Trans:it project has been designed with this question in mind: to help you to decide whether or not to pursue a place on one of the many higher education courses in the Yorkshire region, or elsewhere.
The exercises you will encounter are aimed at both full time and part-time further education students of all ages and will test your perceptions and knowledge of higher education, and your motivation for study at this level. They will engage you with many of the issues and skills for learning that first year HE students find challenging - and invite you to think hard about your own reasons for studying at this level.
There are six sections to Trans:it and each is divided into separate topic units; there are 21 units in total. You can work on paper versions of these in a group with your tutor, or you can work individually with online versions of the units.
All the units are practical and active; they offer you a range of self-assessment exercises, quizzes and questionnaires to complete.
